ARQUITURISMO

ARQUITURISMO as artistic project, is part of an ongoing open line in time, as a work in progress , whose center is the study of the territories, cities and architecture related to mass tourism, with regard to areas where historical crossroads of political, social, economic and environmental, to which the visual arts field offers the possibility of a new conceptualization.

turim architectural space has received little attention despite being a major consumer of land in Spain and have exercised a dominant role in shaping models of tourist cities, along and breadth of the English territory, without forgetting the fundamental role of tourism in developing a new vision of Spain during the dictatorship.

Turim mass arose in Spain in mid-year phenomenon fifty as strongly linked to the Franco regime, which sought to provide an overview of economic and social development after which hide a dictatorship. Tourism Spain created a sense of dynamic, outward-looking, modern and economically strong. English families in tourism saw an opportunity to enhance their status through the immersion property, on the other hand, capital inflows and foreign tourists configured a multicultural and global outlook in a country that had been strongly self-enclosed for decades.

The legacy of this new idea of \u200b\u200bSpain is a saturated landscape architectural types of transient occupancy, a representative landscape of the phenomenon of "bricks" and an economy totally dependent on a few industries, tourism and beach construction, which today are being questioned in the current global economic crisis.

environments such as the Costa del Sol, Costa Brava and the Canaries are proof of deadlock in these industries and their developmental promises. Today, these spaces have been stuck in the past, both from a sociological point of view and aesthetic, doomed to a slow but steady decline.

This project aims to study the tourist city in Spain as a phenomenon linked to a specific historical and political conditions, and bequeathed some areas that currently require conceptualization to adapt to new conditions hitórico-political, social, economic and environmental aspects of contemporary society.

Starting from a tourist city in Spain as a thing of the past, we propose a process by way of archaeological work, to study the "Remnants" of these cities as if they were distant cultures to create a broad selection of "sample material" that let you view the causes of their rise and fall.
